Julie Billes grabbed a hat-trick as France Women made a flying start to their Women's Six Nations title defence at Stade Henri Desgrange.
The reigning champions welcomed Scotland Women - without a win in the 2014 Championship - across the Channel and hit the ground running, as Julie Duval and Jessy Tremouliere each crossed over.
Billes then scored twice before the break and once after, before centres Celine Heguy and Elodie Poublan inflicted further misery on the visitors to complete a 42-0 win.
The hosts flew out the blocks and almost made the breakthrough immediately, only to waste a big overlap when Tremouliere couldn't quite reel in a pass.
They did, however, strike two minutes later when the dominant French pack set the tone for the contest with a powerful drive.
Duval was the beneficiary, burrowing over from close range to score, while Tremouliere added the extras from the tee.
The French forwards continued to cause their visitors all sorts of problems but it was a neat move from the backs that brought the second try.
Camille Cabalou showed great composure on debut to send a neat kick to the corner and Tremouliere won the race to touch it down - though the full-back missed the resulting conversion.
She did, however, add three more points when Scotland conceded a penalty 30 metres from their own goal - and things didn't get any better for the away side when hooker Lana Skeldon was forced off with a head injury.
Billes then bagged the first of her three tries, finishing off a flowing move in the corner, before Tremouliere's excellent touchline conversions made it 22-0.
A Jenny Maxwell break threatened to upset the status quo but France held firm before racing up the other end for a fourth try - more smart handling by the backs and Billes once again on hand to score.
But Tremouliere's conversion struck the post and bounced clear, sending France into the break 27-0 ahead.
Scotland stood firm for the first ten minutes of the second half but Billes eventually found her way through for a third time, following another French overlap.
She almost had a fourth shortly before the hour mark but couldn't cleanly collect Tremouliere's pass after the full-back picked a gap in the defence.
Heguy was next to cross over for the home side and with seven minutes left on the clock her centre partner Poublan got the seventh, ghosting through the Scottish defence.
Both went unconverted but that was of little consequence to France, who will now visit Ireland Women on Friday.
