DOHA: Comments from 43-year-old Oksana Chusovitina of Uzbekistan after she finished fourth on vault in the women’s apparatus finals at Aspire Dome on Friday.
On her performance:
“Mistakes happen. I am not a robot. Every mistake brings you closer to the winning point. You have to fight. Today I made a made a mistake, and the other gymnasts were stronger, but you have to go out and perform.”
On her feelings and plans:
“As long as I’m safe and healthy, I’m happy. The main competition for me will be next year (2019 Worlds, for qualification for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games), and therefore I’m preparing for that.”
On what she will need to win a medal next time:
“I need to vault more.”
