The Chinese representative, Shuang Guo, became the world champion of the Women’s Keirin, defeating French Clara Sanchez and Dutch Willy Kanis in the final rivalry.
Six contenders competed in the final, and the first one to launch the sprint, two laps before the finish line, was French Sanchez. She kept the lead until the final metres and, for a moment, it seemed that she would be a new gold medallist. However, Guo had a fantastic finish and it was her, who could enjoy the victory. The bronze went to Dutch Kanis.
