Chicago Bandits in conjunction with The Dome at The Ballpark

The Chicago Bandits in conjunction with The Dome at The Ballpark announced today that they are joining forces to offer a hitting academy for both youth and high school aged softball players.

The academy, which is scheduled to begin on November 6 for youth, will
be run by Bandits Head Coach Mike Steuerwald. Steuerwald, who is also
the new softball director for The Dome, was most recently an assistant
coach at Elon (N.C.) University in addition to his duties with the
Bandits.

There will be two youth sessions offered and two high school sessions
offered. Each session will run for six weeks and participants have the
option to select the classes in which they'll attend. The first youth
session for ages 9-13 will run from Nov. 6 through Dec. 18 from
4:30-5:30 p.m. and the first high school session will run from Nov. 7
through Dec. 18 from 7-8 p.m. The second set of sessions will begin on
Jan. 15.

The cost for the full six week program will be $110 or individual
sessions can be attended for $20.

The hitting academy will involve a weekly progression through hitting
drills, including learning the mental aspect of hitting, discussion on
the hitter's approach and drills that focus on hitting certain pitches.

To register for either the youth or high school session, download the
form and return via mail, email or fax to the Bandits office. Additional
questions on the hitting academy can be addressed to Mike Steuerwald at
[email protected].
