Warwickshire's new Australian overseas signing Delissa Kimince played a major part in their win over Cheshire here.
Batting first, both Kimmince and opening partner Amy Jones were reprieved early on by Cheshire fielders, and this proved costly. Jones made 22 but Kimmince reached 47 from 44 deliveries before Cheshire bagged her wicket, at which time the score was 95 from 16 overs and a huge total appeared likely.
All credit must go to Cheshire for recovering so well from this stage. Kate Skelhorn bowled well in her later overs, there was a creditable debut for Jemma Bentley with 1-18 in seven overs, and Natalie Lyons returned the best figures of the innings with 3-13.
Despite an accurate spell at the death from Nathalie Long, another debutante, Warwickshire recovered slightly to 184-9, which proved vital to the outcome of the game.
Kimmince's contribution was not finished, as she struck four times in an excellent opening spell, albeit aided by two questionable decisions. Cheshire's last hopes though remained alive until Dawn Prestidge departed for 51.
Following the best stand of the innings for the ninth wicket, Kimmince returned to claim another scalp, finishing with 5-12 in 10 overs.
