APRIL 22 - MOLSON today signed up to be a sponsor of Canada's Olympic team for the 2012 Games in London.
The deal is part of a sponsorship agreement that sees Canada's oldest brewer become the official beer supplier of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Molson, brewer of Molson Canadian, Coor’s Light and Rickard’s Red, will supply the suds at all venue and non-venue Olympic sites during the 2010 Games.
“We look forward to raising a pint with the global community in 2010,” said Molson president Kevin Boyce, at the Burrard Street brewery today.
As well, beginning in January, Molson will use 2010 Olympics logos in its marketing.
John Furlong, the chief executive of the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee, said Molson was an original sponsor during the Olympic bid process.
He said: “Molson helped us win the bid, and we will be pleased to welcome them back to the family."
It means Molson will also be the official supplier for the Canadian Olympic team for the 2010 Games and 2012.
