Yanina Wickmayer, WTA 22 has beaten Alison Van Uytvanck, WTA 427. But, it hasn't been so easy.
Not at all because Alison played very well and used her weapons (serve, slice and dropshot) as she did during her four first matches. In the other hand, Yanina Wickmayer was very nervous. Then, at 5-5, Alison made a new break to serve for the set. She leaded 30-0. At this time , Yanina came back and took 10 points in a row to lead 6-0 in the tie-break. She won it 7-2. The second set was a little bit easier for Wickmayer who won 6-4.
But, once again, Alison Van Uytvanck has been very impressive and her tournament was a big success.
Yanina should play Caroline Wozniacki in the quarter. Only if the number One beats Varvara Lepchenko this evening.
The fourth seed of the Brussels Open is out. Jelena Jankovic, WTA 9, has been eliminated by Sofia Arvidson, WTA 76, 3-6 6-3 6-3.
Arvidsson had already beaten two Top 10 during her career.
In the quarter final, she will meet Shuai Peng.
