Brooks Adrenaline GTS 14 First Impression:
Brooks GTS 14 Model is very similar to its predecessor on a surface level. With the Brooks’ logo on the side as the pop color, they keep the mesh simple against the synthetic overlays.

Don’t be fooled by these minimal looking shoes. Like its older brothers, the GTS 14 packs a lot of technology and punch into each pair.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 14 Upper:
The Upper’s construction is kept the same as prior models. Composeds composed of Air mesh and synthetic overlays, the shoe allows maximum breathability, and doesn’t add weight.

The mesh is extremely lightweight and fast to dry. New to the GTS 14 is Brooks’ new lacing design. The updated system works to even out the lace pressure and create a more conformed, snug fit.

After a long run, the first place that starts to annoy me is the top of my foot because of the lacing pressure. The beginning of a dull ache due to the stress on the upper usually is my warning sign that my feet are over the run. I noticed that although I still had the gradual dull ache, it took longer to present itself in my run and I was able to go longer.

The 3D Fit Print technology additionally adds a flexible, no-stitch fit. The lining consists of both nylon and spandex material, which help to disperse moisture and reduce friction in case your socks slide down. The Profile Sockliner and Internal Support Saddle wraps feet to give a more conformed fit while also helping keep them in place.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 14 Sole Unit:
The Adrenaline GTS 14 continues midsole technologies seen in the GTS 12 and GTS 13 such Brooks’ patented Heel and Midfoot Caterpillar Crash Pad, a Full Length BioMoGO, the Progressive Diagonal Rollbar (PDRB), Omega Flex Grooves, and Brooks’ DNA. These allow an efficient stride, and a smooth heel lay down, while offering maximum cushion and comfort.

These elements help correct the overpronationa runner may face and guide the foot towards a more normal and fluid stride.Overpronation occurs when a runner’s stride, much like myself, hits the ground on the lateral side of the heel. The foot strike does not absorb shock efficiently, which results in uneven distribution of weight.

This causes the individual’s arches to collapse; potentially weakening the ankles and resulting in injury. Thermoplastic urethane arch shanks are added to control torsional flex in the midfoot. It reduces the overall cushioning to the heel, but provides additional control and stability.

Brooks patented DNA Technology is truly unique to the brand, and I am happy to see it is continued in this model. It offers full length gel cushioning made up of high viscosity liquid, which instantly reacts and responds to any amount of force placed on the foot, while giving twice the normal energy return.

The faster you run, the harder the liquid becomes. The slower the speed, the DNA liquid becomes supportive and conforms to each stride. The midsole features Brook’s famed BioMoGo technology, a polymer alloy foam. The BioMoGo is not only for technical purposes, but also environmentally friendly. Brooks’ additive to the BioMoGo helps the midsoles breakdown faster in landfills.

The BioMoGo serves many purposes, which include cushioning, faster energy return, and reducing foot fatigue during your runs. Like the prior GTS models, Brooks continues using the Omega Flex Grooves, which offers maximum flexibility of the midsole through the deeper, contoured grooves. This gives an easier transition from heel to toe and ultimately gives a smooth ride.

Brooks’ Flextra and Stable-Pod Configuration technologies also in the forefoot offers additional customization for individually based factors such as gender or weight, and increases flexibility and responsiveness.

The Outsoleson the Brooks GTS 14 look like large molars. Constructed of a mixture of rubber compounds, these large chunks or grooves grip to the surface and reduce frictional wear. I noticed a smooth heel strike and greater traction during run. From concrete to twiggy trails, the GTS 14 handled its own.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 14 Overall:
Whether on a short or long distance run, I noticed greater allowance of movement, flexibility, and control in my stride. It offers a smooth and stable ride. After running a significant amount of miles in these shoes, the shoes maintained integrity and I didn’t see a reduction in cushion or support.
