British Swimmers to decide Olympic Fate in 2012

Britain's swimmers with ambitions of competing at a home Olympic Games
will determine their fate at the Aquatics Centre in London in March
2012.

The British Gas Swimming Championships 2012 will double as the first
selection trials where lifelong dreams and motivations will be realised
or shattered as swimmers compete for places on the British team bound
for London in July.

Swimmers will compete across eight days at the Championships for the
chance to represent their country as the event replicates the full
Olympic schedule.

The event will run from 3rd to 10th March 2012 and will also be open to
international swimmers as Olympic organisers use it as the official test
event prior to the Games in July.

British Swimming National Performance Director Michael Scott believes
the trials being held in the Olympic venue will provide added incentive
for swimmers and a fantastic opportunity for the public to view their
national heroes.

"What better venue and environment for our swimmers to compete and earn
a place on the 2012 Olympic team.

"The Aquatics Centre will provide the perfect backdrop for us to
showcase the sport and athletes to the British public."
