Spelthorne clearly dominated at the Senior level of the 2008 British Acrobatics and Tumbling Championships held at Fenton Manor, Stoke on Trent, over the weekend 29/30 March.

Led by the 1998 World Champion in Mixed Pairs, Neil Griffiths, who is now the club’s Head Coach, Spelthorne's acrobats won the titles in four out of five disciplines:

Women’s Pairs- Elizabeth Oliver, Katie Axten
Women’s Trio- Emily Grove, Casey Morrison, Victoria Lamkin

Nicolas Illingworth and Sarah Cameron from Wakefield grabbed the fifth available title in Acrobatics, (for Mixed pairs), while their female team-mates white-washed the podium in the Tumbling event: Sarah Turner – Gold; Laura Houston- Silver; Rachel Letsche- Bronze.

The British Championships for the tumblers this year had the added bonus of being used as the final selection event for the European Championships in Denmark (end of April/beginning of May).

The full crowd at the Fenton Manor thoroughly enjoyed the performances of some 350 plus participants representing 30 Acrobatic and 16 Tumbling Clubs.

Smoothly run and very well organized, the event showed the wealth of talent within Great Britain at junior level and Age Groups as well.
