Britain Storms to Women's Junior European Relay Gold

The British trio of Rebecca Wain, Kerry Prise and Kate French have won the Women’s Relay at the Junior European Championships.

The Brits managed to pass Belarus, comprised of Katsiayna Arol, Marharyta  Maseikava and Luba  Jilinskaya who won silver with Poland represented by Natalia Kozuchowska,  Natalia Hachulska and Paula  Markowska has a brilliant combined event to snatch bronze.

The British gold was a fitting reward for Rebecca Wain who had to give up the opportunity to run with the Olympic torch to compete today which portraits her love of the sport.

Wain, Prise and French who won silver in the individual competition all performed extremely well. They finished 3rd in the fencing behind the silver medallists Belarus and Hungary. This matched with a 2nd place in the pool, where all  British teams seems to excel and then 5 rails down in the ride meant they were well place going into the combined event.

A 2nd place in the combined event was enough to overtake Belarus on the final lap and ended up winning by 5 seconds.
