England's Lauren Briggs emerged triumphant in (Friday) finals of the NSC Series No3 Squash Championship at the Bukit Jalil National Squash Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Top seed Briggs came through a tough quarter-final in the women's $8,000 WISPA World Tour event – recovering from two games down to beat Australia's fifth seed Lisa Camilleri.
The 29-year-old world No20 from London faced local star Sharon Wee in the final. The Malacca-born 31-year-old – ranked five places lower – was celebrating her second successive final appearance in the NSC Series events in KL.
Wee battled for 30 minutes, but it was Briggs that prevailed, winning 11-4, 11-3, 11-8 to collect the fifth Tour title of her career in her eighth final appearance.
