On the last morning, the Elite Women competition was scheduled and at the starting line GIANT Italia Team was present with the Slovenian biker Blaza Klemencic.
A great and brilliant performance characterized the competition of the athlete from Ljubljana, who arrived at 10th position, behind some of strongest bikers competing in this discipline – like as Margarita Fullana – 2008 World Champion - Sabine Spitz, the previous World Champion Irina Kalentieva and the Olympic Champion Gunn Rita Dahle.
She competed just behind the leaders of the competition during the first 2 laps and then she maintained a good position in the Top10.
“She feed a lot because of the hot temperatures and this decision is the reason of this important result” the Technical Manager Gianfranco Bechis said “in the Uphills, where she felt very comfortable, she re-joined the leaders. During the third lap, she preferred not to compromise her performance controlling the opponents, arriving at the finish line in 10th position”.
Blaza Klemencic is very satisfied about this result and she is focused on the next events scheduled in her sportive calendar : Slovenian Cross Country Championship, World Cup in Schladming but above all Olympic Games in Beijing.
