‘’It was pleased with how I fought through a couple of tough dives,’’ said Benfeito, also en route for Rio. ‘’I’m very happy to have completed this competition with so much success.’’
Benfeito also competed in two events at the senior level this week.

There were three other finals in women’s junior competition. Hailey Casper of Calgary took the Group B (14-15) one-metre, Cassidy Nora-Gagnon of Montreal won the Group C (12-13) three-metre and Monica Gavaris of Montreal was first in the Group D (11 and under) one-metre.
Vincent Riendeau of Pointe-Claire, Que., took the boys Group D platform.
The junior competition was also a selection meet for the Pan American junior championships this October in Puerto Rico. Twenty-four spots were up for grabs.
