Bank rolling a win

XIX Commonwealth Games: Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex, New Delhi, India

Australia's Sharyn Renshaw, Claire Duke and Julie Keegan remain in medal contention at the Delhi Commonwealth Games after claiming a post-sectional berth this evening (8/10).

With a final round bye tomorrow (9/10), Australia can finish no lower than second, but can still top the group and advance directly through to the semi-finals if India fails to claim a set against New Zealand during their final hit out, which is not out of the realms of possibility.

Having watched on while Australia's men's triples team advanced past the preliminary rounds earlier today with a win over the Kiwis, Renshaw, Duke and Keegan took solace from the result, surviving their own do-or-die clash with their arch-enemy to claim an 8-6, 10-9 victory.

"We knew we had to go out and beat the Kiwis and we really wanted to beat them in straight sets to secure our place in the top-three," a relieved Keegan said following her side's character building win.

"I think we all chipped in, and did our bit in that game, so it was a real team effort."
