The Chicago Bandits will host their annual open tryouts for the 2014 team on Sunday, May 25 from 9-1 p.m. at the Ballpark at Rosemont.
Tryouts are open to women, ages 21 and over who have completed eligibility at a four-year institution. A payment of $40 must be sent to the Chicago Bandits. Payment should be mailed to 27 Jennie Finch Way, Rosemont, IL, 60018 or faxed to 630-396-3095.
Participants will be required to bring their own equipment, including, a glove, cleats, catcher’s gear, batting helmet, bat and batting gloves. Players will be judged based on hitting skills, fielding, position specific skills, base running and 40-yard time, arm strength and knowledge of the game.
Fans are encouraged to come out and watch potential Bandits players try out for a spot on the team free of charge. Following the open tryouts, select players will be asked to stay and suit up for the Bandits as they take on the Indiana Slammers in an exhibition game at 5:05 p.m.
The Bandits will make their final decision on who will join the 2014 roster following the game.

The Bandits home opener is scheduled for Saturday, May 31 against the Akron Racers at 7:35 p.m. at the Ballpark at Rosemont.
