FIFA today received a formal letter from Football Federation Australia CEO Ben Buckley confirming that Australia has withdrawn from the formal bidding process for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011.
Therefore, the field of potential hosts for the sixth FIFA Women's World Cup has been narrowed to three: Canada, Germany and Peru. On Monday, 29 October, the candidate associations will have the opportunity to present their bids to FIFA and on Tuesday, 30 October, the FIFA Executive Committee will take the decision of where the next edition of the world's premier women's football competition will take place.
