Australia won the Intercontinental Women's Team title, the first stage of the Liebherr World Team Cup, on Thursday 3rd November 2011, overcoming Nigeria in the concluding contest to complete the competition unbeaten.
It is the first time that a team from Oceania has won an Intercontinental Cup Team title and it means that in just three years of the competition, the four continents of Africa, Latin America, North America and Oceania have shared the honours.
