A slice of history remains a reality for three of Australia's lawn bowls stars after they kept their dreams alive at the Delhi Commonwealth Games this morning (8/10).
With the women's pairs and men's triples facing do-or-die matches against New Zealand and Canada respectively, the Australians lifted in the morning session, with Lynsey Armitage and Natasha Van Eldik easing past New Zealand's Manu Timoti and Jan Khan 8-4, 14-2.
Having captured both disciplines in Melbourne, Armitage, Turley and Casey remain on track to become the first Australian lawn bowlers to win two Commonwealth Games gold medals, with their fate currently in their own hands.
Despite dropping two of their opening four pool games, Armitage and Van Eldik have now strung four successive wins together to move to the top of their section, with just two matches remaining.
The pair will confront Zambia's Matimba Like and Foster Banda from 6pm AEDST today before facing the Cook Islands' Tugane Tere and Tangata Tokorangi in their final hit out at the same time tomorrow (9/10)
"Tash couldn't put a foot wrong today, she was awesome," Armitage said.
"Whatever she had for breakfast she should have that again."
