AUS – Hurst in the hunt for Opals spot

MELBOURNE (2010 FIBA World Championship for Women) - Competition is fierce for places in the Australian  women’s national team as they look to defend their world title later this year in the Czech Republic.

One player that has a chance of making the trip to Ostrava is 26-year-old point guard Nat Hurst, who helped fire Carrie Graf's Canberra Capitals to the WNBL championship over the weekend in Melbourne with a 75-70 triumph over the Bulleen Boomers.

Hurst had 21 points and three assists in winning her seventh WNBL crown.

With respect to the Opals, she's taking it one step at a time.

“I'd like to make the squad,” Hurst said.

“If you make the squad, you can make the camp and then anything can happen from there."
