MELBOURNE (WNBL) – Bendigo Spirit's evergreen Australia international Kristi Harrower has been named Player of the Week in the Women’s National Basketball League Down Under.
Harrower, who is also the general manager of Bendigo (8-3), led the side to a 76-69 victory over Adelaide on Sunday with 17 points, 10 assists and five rebounds as they climbed into third place behind Canberra (13-1) and Bulleen Boomers (9-2).
The 35-year-old averaged 7.7 points and 2.6 assists per game at the FIBA World Championship for Women in the Czech Republic where Australia finished fifth.
She was a leading player on the Opals side that won the world title in 2006.
It was also a big week for Australia’s teenage center Liz Cambage, who had 30 points in a 73-57 win over Logan Thunder and followed that up with 19 in an 86-62 drubbing of Townsville.
