More fans attended the ANZ Championship than ever before with Round 12 breaking the record for largest cumulative crowd during a single regular season round.

The league welcomed 23,699 fans through the turnstiles - breaking the previous record of 23,674 set in Round 14 2009 - despite playing one less game on the weekend.

The records continued to tumble in Round 12 with the NSW Swifts breaking the ANZ Championship record for largest regular season crowd as 10,118 watched the hosts hold on to claim victory over the Adelaide Thunderbirds at Allphones Arena in Sydney.

The Melbourne Vixens broke their season high with 8,020 at Hisense Arena against the Fever while in New Zealand, the Haier Pulse attracted 2,856 spectators against the Mystics and the Kia Magic had 2,705 witness their win over the EasiYo Tactix on Monday night.

The weekend's average crowd of 5,925 across the four games eclipsed the previous record of 4,734 also set in Rd 14, 2009 (5 matches).

"The records this weekend are further evidence that the ANZ Championship continues to go from strength to strength both on and off the court," ANZ Championship General Manager Andy Crook said.

"Thank you to our loyal and passionate fans and members on either side of the Tasman that help make the ANZ Championship the world’s best netball league.”

Only two points separate the first placed Melbourne Vixens and fifth placed Haier Pulse with two rounds remaining before finals. The fourth placed Queensland Firebirds will host the fifth placed Pulse on Saturday afternoon at the Gold Coast with a finals berth on the line.

In the remaining games, the Adelaide Thunderbirds host the Vixens, the Magic travel to Sydney to face off against the Swifts, the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel host the Tactix and the Mystics return home to take on the Fever in Auckland.
