Athletes To Represent USA Water Ski At 2009 World Games
Athletes will represent USA Water Ski at the 8th World Games, July 23- 26, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The World Games, first held in 1981, is an international multi-sport event meant for sports that are not contested in the Olympics. The water ski program consists of three-event water skiing, barefoot water skiing and wakeboarding.
Caroline Hensley (Hixson, Tenn.) and Storm Selsor (Fremont, Calif.) will participate in the three-event water skiing competition. Elaine Heller (Alma Center, Wis.) will participate in the barefoot water skiing competition. Dallas Friday (Orlando, Fla.) and Raimi Merritt (Lantana, Fla.) will participate in the wakeboarding competition. The participating athletes – who compete solely for individual medals – were selected based on world overall rankings and availability.
