Australia and England’s women’s cricket teams have been battling for the Ashes at the start of the New Year with a series of T20, Test and ODI games. Host nation Australia have had the best of the opening exchanges but the action on the pitch has been relatively even.

As the Women’s Ashes continues, other sides around the world will be watching closely as 2022 will feature a major global competition. The 12th version of the Women’s ODI World Cup is set to take place in New Zealand across March and April, and it could be the most competitive edition yet.

Teams and Format

The 2022 renewal of the Women’s 50-Over World Cup gets underway on March 4th. Just over four weeks later, the final will take place on April 3rd and the winners will be crowned.

Eight national teams are taking part and, in the opening stages, all sides will play each other once. The league table will develop over the course of that group phase and it will ultimately decide who progresses to the next round.

At the end of that initial sequence, the top four sides will go straight through to the semifinals. Those semis, and the final itself will be played on a straightforward knockout basis. It’s a simple format and one that streamlines a brief and thrilling tournament.

The Neutral Opinion

The eight teams taking part in the 2022 World Cup are defending champions England, host nation New Zealand, plus Australia, India, West Indies, South Africa, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Sports betting sites in India and beyond will publish a full set of odds in the lead up to the first game. At the time of writing, those markets are still filling up but early indications suggest that Australia will be the favourites, closely followed by England and India. Other countries will be hopeful of mounting a challenge but, according to the sportsbooks affiliated with Asiabet, the winner may well come from those three teams.

Those World Cup markets will remain in place throughout the competition and they will only close once the winners lift the trophy. Asiabet will update their odds as the tournament progresses and any changes to the markets will be clearly shown.

Also listed on the site are news and opinions on cricket and on the wider world of women’s sport. While taking that information on board, readers can also get involved with the markets if they wish to do so.

The sportsbooks mentioned on the site are all set up and ready to welcome new customers. Opening deals can be generous while ongoing promotions for existing account holders will be published by most outlets.

There will be a set of funding methods in position which will get the account moving while ongoing deals and the possibility of live streaming cricket action via mobile or desktop can also be found. It’s an essential site for this global tournament but who will be lifting the trophy on April 3rd?

The Verdict

Early exchanges in that women’s Ashes series suggest that both Australia and England are in good form. The Aussies may have the edge but they do possess some home advantage and, had it not been for a brilliant individual display by Tahlia McGrath, England might have held the lead going into the solitary test match.
