Annie Au caused the upset of the day in Malaysia

Women's quarter-finals:

[1] Line Hansen (DEN) bt [7] Shin Nga Leung (HKG) 9-6, 9-0, 9-2 (31m)

[3] Delia Arnold (MAS) bt [6] Siti Munirah Jusoh (MAS) 9-0, 9-1, 9-6 (24m)

[5] Annie Au (HKG) bt [4] Lim Yoke Wah (MAS) 9-5, 9-2, 9-1 (43m)

[2] Margriet Huisman (NED) bt Nessrine Ariffin (MAS) 9-4, 9-2, 9-1 (17m)


Hong Kong's fifth seed Annie Au produced the only upset in the women's event when she beat Malaysia's Lim Yoke Wah, the fourth seed, 9-5, 9-2, 9-1 in 43 minutes.

The 18-year-old Asian Junior champion will now take on Margriet Huisman, the second seed from the Netherlands who defeated local player Nessrine Ariffin 9-4, 9-2, 9-1.
