Australian Cyclist Anna Meares bettered her own mark to set a new Commonwealth Games record, wining Gold in the Women's 500m Time Trial at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex.

Meares clocked 33.758 seconds to break her previous record of 34.326 set during Melbourne 2006.
She marked the fastest splits to defend her 500m Time Trial crown and claim her fifth medal in the Commonwealth Games.
The Silver went to another Australian Kaarle McCulloch, who recorded 34.780 seconds on the clock.
Becky James of Scotland set a time of 35.236 seconds to claim the Bronze medal in her first elite international competition.-GNS
