Amsterdam Hockey Club Ladies First team players Sylvia Karres and Jiske Snoeks came up with a novel fundraising idea to boost club coffers and help raise the teams profile prior to the recent European Club Cup Winners cup in Madrid, a club calendar.
With sponsorship from Vedior and design and production by Carroti Media nl (the company who handle the club's marketing and media affairs) professional studio photographer Jacob van Rozelaar was commissioned to produce a black and white club calendar featuring 18 of the players posing as professional models.
Recovering from long term injury and having played briefly during the Eurohockey Club Cup matches at Madrid, Maartje Scheepstra sold copies of the calendar to fans in Madrid. Eva Vissser who features on the April page also features on the calendar cover. Copies of the calendar are for sale at 20 euros via the club website or from carrotimedia.nl 's website. As an additional personal touch, in faint text, the birthdays of all the players are included on the appropriate day in the calendar. According to Carotti Media's Ramses Meering , plans are underway to produce a regular glossy magazine for the successful hockey club.
