England girl international Alex Peters (pictured right) successfully defended her title in the Fairhaven Junior Trophies – helped by setting a new course record.
Alex, 15, from Notts’ Ladies, was 12-under par for the 72-hole tournament at Fairhaven Golf Club in Lancashire. She signed off with a final round of six-under 69, which followed scores of 71, 75, 73.
The runner-up in the girls’ championship was another England junior international, Heidi Baek, 15, of Felixstowe Ferry in Suffolk. She was five-under after returning 73, 74, 78, 70.
Alex Peters was a member of the England U18 B team which won the Nations Cup, while Heidi Baek was in the England A team, who were runners-up.
Alex also recently helped Wellington College, Berkshire, to win the team trophy at the Independent Schools Golf Association's championships over the Kittocks course at Fairmont St Andrews, Scotland. The team also included her brother Ed and their fellow pupil, Jordan Mann.
