A Minute with Lara Welham



This week, we talk to Lara Welham of Brunel Hurricanes. The 26 year old PE teacher is a former Australian U21 player, and played for McDonald Hunter Jaegars in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy, the Australian equivalent to the Superleague.

Lara has already established herself as one of the Co-operative Netball Superleague’s most accurate shooters and will be looking for another solid performance when Brunel Hurricanes travels to Leeds Carnegie on Saturday in a must-win game for both sides if they are to make the end of season play offs.


What did you have for lunch yesterday?

Rissole, cheese and tomato sauce sandwiches; I think it must be an Aussie things! It’s like mince and herbs and things – it was left over from my meal the night before.

Fish


What would you name your pet monkey?

Bubbles, only because it’s the first thing that popped into my head.

Retired and living it up on the beach


When do you normally wake up?

When I am on the train to work, it takes me a while to wake up!

Leeds Carnegie vs Brunel Hurricanes takes place this Saturday afternoon at 4.00pm at Leeds Metropolitan University.
