5 Golfers You Should Keep Your Eye On 2022

Every year a new set of golfers comes out of the shadows and wows the crowds. Although the big players should always be focused on, we cannot ignore the newbies and their talent.

If you want to win big in betting companies, like Fanduel's golf sportsbook, you should see how these lesser-known golfers are holding up against their more established rivals.

  1. Max Homa

Although Homa is relatively new to the professional golfing scene, he is not a new face to the fans. Homa is a social media marval and loves to roast his fans on their poor swings and terrible club choices. Think of Gorden Ramsey but for the golf world.

Although Max is a class clown, that doesn’t mean his talent is just a pre-show. He has some amazing skills and a tremendous ability to shake up the golfing ranks.

He is also known as a two-time winner of the PGA Tour, and he has even won against Maverick McNealy. It might have been by a single stroke, but that was enough to name him a Fortinet Champion.

We expect that Max Homa will be the next big golfing household name.

  1. Dustin Johnson

Many people have declared Dustin Johnson the best player in the world. His phenomenal talent drew people in and brought forth this idea way before he won the Masters. But with that jacket on his holders, none can deny his skill.

Some had compared Johnson’s rise up the ranks to Tiger Woods when he first joined the scene. Many of his shots were tee-to-green, and his steady putt made the pitch seem like child's play. Dustin made everything seem simple.

In the 20019 to 2020 games, Johnson achieved 4 wins, 3 runner-ups, and the FedEx Cup crown. Even the greats have commented on Johnson’s skill and have dropped their jaws at his ability.

  1. Maverick McNealy

Like we said before, McNealy almost won his first ever PGA tour but lost by a single stroke. The winner? Max Homa. However, being so close showed him and everyone else that McNealy is getting better every year. Soon he will be sweeping the floor with his wins as his confidence and ability grow.

Already owning a top 10 ranking from the RBC Heritage and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am leagues, McNealy has been gathering growing interest for years. We think that the 2022 games will show everyone just how much this player has mastered the sport.

  1. Justin Thomas

Justin Thomas is a player that most viewers sleep on. They ignore his talents and are then surprised when he impresses them once again. Don’t be like the common folk, and realize Thomas’ greatest from the get-go. Since he started in 2017, Thomas has won 7 tournaments, achieved 30 top finishes (which adds up to 45.45% of all of his games), and top 25 finishes (which adds up to 78.78% of all of his games).

These numbers should be making your mind boggle! The reason why most people forget this champion exists is due to a couple of inconsistent games. His last three tournaments have pushed him down the rankings, but in reality, Thomas should be up there with the best of them!

  1. Matthias Schwab

Matthias Schwab is an Austrian golfer who primarily plays in European tournaments. His amateur career was wildly successful, and so he turned professional in 2017. It was in this season that Schwab entered the Challenge Tour and started with excellent results.

Every tournament Schwab enters, he excels in, making it to the top 10s or higher. We have yet to see Matthias fall from grace, so he would be the perfect underdog to bet for!

  1. Bonus Golfer - Jon Rahm

Last year John Rahm had everything apart from a major. He was rated the 3rd best player in the whole world and held the number 1 spot for a whole two weeks, with his victories towering over everyone else.

With a 36 hole lead, the Spaniard dominated the field and is ranked the top 3 golfers in almost all tournaments.

Although we don’t doubt this will change for Rahm in 2022, we hope that his outstanding performances will carry on into the new year.

  1. Bonus Golfer - Christiaan Bezuidenhout

Our last bonus golfer for you is the amazing South African player. He was a great star in the PGA tour and is a three-time winner of the European Tour. With so many wins under his belt, we expect this remarkable person to keep shocking us.
