Results from day one of competition at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester where Olympian Jess Varnish took victory in the women's 500m Time Trial and Sophie Thornhill and Helen Scott (pilot) took the two Para-cycling Pursuit gold medals.
Women's 500m Time Trial
Gold: Jessica Varnish (Team V-Sprint Racing) 34.445
Silver: Victoria Williamson (VC Norwich) 34.913
Bronze: Dannielle Khan (Solihull CC) 35.345
Talking to British Cycling after the race, new National Champion Jess Varnish said:
"It's not a personal best but it's the best I could have done today, I'm just happy to take the win!"
