2011 FIVB Swatch World Championships powered by smart
A total of 96 teams from 31 countries will be competing in the 2011 FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Championships powered by smart (as of May 31, 2011), including Angola (1 men’s team, no women), Australia (1, 3), Austria (2, 2), Belgium (0, 1), Brazil (5, 4), Canada (1, 2), China (1, 2), the Czech Republic (1, 3), Denmark (1, 0), Estonia (1, 0), Finland (0, 1), France (1, 0), Georgia (1, 1), Germany (4, 5), Great Britain (0, 2), Greece (0, 1), Italy (3, 4), Kazakhstan (1, 0), Latvia (2, 1), Mauritius (0, 1), Mexico (0, 1), the Netherlands (2, 4), New Zealand (1, 0), Norway (1, 1), Poland (2, 0) Russia, (4, 2), Spain (2, 1), Sweden (1, 0), Switzerland (4, 2), the Ukraine (1, 0) and the United States (4, 4).
• A total of 48 men’s teams from 25 countries have been named to compete in the 2011 FIVB Swatch World Championships (as of May 31, 2011), including Angola, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Ukraine and the United States. Brazil will have five teams in the men’s competition with four teams each from Germany, Russia, Switzerland and the United States. Host Italy will have three teams in the competition. Countries with two teams competing will be Austria, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland and Spain. Angola, Australia, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and the Ukraine. • A total of 48 women’s teams from 22 countries will be competing in the 2010 world championships (as of May 31, 2010), including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Mauritius, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Spain, Switzerland and the United States. Germany will have five teams in the competition with four teams each from Brazil, Italy, Netherlands and the United States. Australia and the Czech Republic will have three teams competing while Austria, Canada, China, Great Britain, Russia and Switzerland will have two entries each. Belgium, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Latvia, Mexico, Mauritius, Norway and Spain will have one tandem each in the women’s competition.
• With the Mauritius having a team scheduled to compete in the 2011 world championships, the total number of countries have entries in the world championships has now increased to 47. The total number of countries that have competed in the men’s world championships is 40 with the women's total now at 37 countries.
