Teams compete for final All Africa Games Volleyball berth
Durban, South Africa, 2011 - The technical meeting of the African Zone 6 volleyball qualifier for the 2011 All Africa Games was held at the Coastlands Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa on Sunday as the schedule for the tournament was unveiled.
The champions of the tournament will automatically qualify for the finals of the All Africa Games, set to be held in Maputo, Mozambique from September 3-18 this year.
With only Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique joining hosts South Africa in the crucial Zone 6 qualifier, Control Committee President Dr.Camillo Antao from Mozambique said that the event will be played over three days from Tuesday to Thursday. The round robin format tournament will determine winners for both genders.
As host nation for the Games, Mozambique have already qualified for the continental showpiece.
Matches will take place at 12.00, 14.00, 16.00 and 18.00 daily at the Tongaat Sports Centre on the KZN North Coast.
