Slovenia coach looking for good performance in CEV Continental Cup
Slovenia were drawn into Pool C, set to take place in Copenhagen, Denmark from September 9-11, alongside Greece, Austria, Estonia, Bulgaria and the hosts, and Krakar has said he expects his team to at least move onto the CEV Continental Cup semifinals.
“Austria and Greece are, at the moment probably too strong for us,” he said in an interview with Slovenian website vecer.com on Monday. “However all the other teams are possible, so I think that our real objective is to rank from second to fourth."
The position of Slovenia women’s beach volleyball coach is up for reappointment in April with Krakar one of a number of candidates.
The duo who Krakar believes is slated to appear in the next phase will be Andreja Vodeb and Martina Jakob, both of whom helped take their country to a second place finish behind Germany in the sub-zonal phase in Zrece, Slovenia from August 4-5 2010, as well as Erika and Simona Fabjan.
All first ranked countries from the Zonal Phase will advance directly to the Continental Cup Final, scheduled for 2012, while all second, third, fourth and fifth ranked nations will move onto the CEV Continental Cup semifinal, which is also set to take place next year.
