Montreal, QC – Émilie Heymans of Greenfield Park, Que., won the gold medal Saturday on women’s 10-metre tower at the 2007 Speedo Junior and Summer Senior National Championships held outdoors this week at Parc Jean-Drapeau. ![]() EmelieHeymans/photo diving.ca.com
In the women’s 10-metre senior competition, Heymans totalled 354.95 points in the final for her 24th career national senior title. Rachel Kemp, 14, of Victoria was second at 342.90 and Marie-Ève Marleau of Montreal third at 326.35. ‘’I missed one dive in the final but overall I was pleased,’’ said Heymans tuning up for the Pan Amercian Games. The diving competition starts next week. ‘’It was unusual to dive in such cool weather but it’s important to be able to adapt quickly to different situations.’’ Frederique Lalonde of Montreal won the girls Group D platform. The junior competition is also a selection meet for the Pan American junior championships this October in Puerto Rico. Competition ends Sunday.
