Fourth consecutive title for Guatemalans Recinos and Alvarado
Guatemalans Blanca Recinos and Susana Alvarado claimed their fourth consecutive title at the IV Central American U-21 Beach Volleyball Championship while countrymen Luis Garcia and Alfredo Cabrera took the crown in the men’s division.
In the women’s final, Recinos/Alvarado defeated Valeria Valenciano and Francinie Morales of Costa Rica by 2-0 (21-16, 21-17). For Recinos and Alvarado this was their final championship in the U-21 category, in which they not only won the gold medal in its four editions but also never lost a match.
“This is the result of many years of hard work and we are so pleased with the gold medal” Alvarado said.
Recinos’ words reflected excitement and pride. “We are so proud to win the title one more time, but it is a great feeling to leave as unbeaten champions.”
