World Ladies Billiards and Snooker Scholarships

SNOOKER-loving girls have the chance to compete alongside four-time women’s world champion Reanne Evans on the national circuit – for free.

World Ladies Billiards and Snooker Scholarships

The World Ladies Billiards & Snooker Association is offering a scholarship package worth more than £300 which includes free membership and tournament entries to every girl who is aged under 16 in September.

WLBSA chairman Mandy Fisher is calling on club owners across the UK to unearth the next world champion.

“We’ve got the greatest lady snooker players of all time,” she said. “I still consider that snooker is one of the finest sports that you can be involved in.”

Eleven-year-old Hannah Jones, from Derby, is one young girl who has taken advantage of the scheme.

Jones, who represented England at the IBSF World Championships in Thailand last November, was crowned World Ladies Junior Champion at Cambridge in May.

Contact WLBSA chairman Mandy Fisher at worldladiessnooker@ntlworld.com for an application form.
