World High Jump Champion Blanka Vlasic has been voted the European Female Athlete of the Month for September.

World High Jump Champion Blanka Vlasic has been voted the European Female Athlete of the Month for September.

Vlasic, who was also the European Athlete of the Month in July, became the first Croatian in history to be crowned World High Jump Champion when she cleared 2.05m to win the title in Osaka on September 2.

On her return from Osaka, the 23-year-old won another five top class competitions in September including the IAAF Golden League meetings in Zurich, Brussels and Berlin, along with the IAAF World Athletics Final in Stuttgart and she finished the month in style with a victory in the Golden Grand Prix in Shanghai on September 28.

On top of all this, she was crowned Waterford Crystal female European Athlete of the Year for 2007 and will be hoping to land gold and continue her unbeaten run of success in China when the Olympics are held in Beijing next August.
