WOOLSTENCROFT GOLDEN AT PARA-ALPINE WORLD CUP

The win secured the overall super combined titles .

“My race went well today, especially the slalom portion. I am very happy to win against a field of women who are all skiing well. It's also great to be here with such a large Canadian team that is skiing extremely well,” said Woolstencroft, who won both events in the ladies standing category. Karolina Wisniewska (Vancouver, BC / Calgary, AB) barely missed the podium, finishing in fourth place in the same category in the super combined.

The Korean event was originally scheduled to start with a super G race but the discipline was switched to super combined. This means that an additional slalom run was added to the day that was originally supposed to be only a super G.

Kathleen Forestall (Ottawa, ON), guided by Michel Sebastien, won second in the Ladies visually impaired category in the super combined. Carly Grigg (Victoria, BC) and her guide, Julie-Christine Roy-Ruel (Lachenaie, QC) had two solid runs, with a third place finish in the same category.

The Canadian Para-Alpine Ski Team (CPAST) has just come off a three week break full of training and preparation for the next couple of events in Korea and Japan.

Today’s races were the first of four races in Korea. The IPC World Cup event will continue tomorrow with a giant slalom event.
