Womensportreport.com speaks to Tatiana Howard

This year has been the busiest yet for me. Not only with my own professional water woman career, but also with the events I organize called The Butterfly Effect. I have been constantly on the move with photoshoots, competitions, event planning, traveling, and training on and off the water. This year has been an absolute blast so far, and I could not imagine it any other way. I love to produce and make a performance for people wether it being a Butterfly Effect,  editing a video, riding wave, or organizing a fundraising party for a charity. I love it all and love to keep stuff fun and interesting.

The year began with the record number of participants in Maui, Hawaii for the 4th Annual Butterfly Effect Maui. We had over 130 women from around the globe take part in the downwinder on the north shore of Maui.

The second Butterfly Effect of the year was held in Sardegna, Italy. There we had a much smaller group, but with a lot of energy.  The weather and scenery in Sardegna, Italy is amazing. It was as if we were all in a painting. Absolutely beautiful!

The latest Butterfly Effect was the Fiji Expedition. This was a week long trip in Fiji. We do at least one Butterfly Effect trip a year, and Fiji was the decided location for it. The trips are fun because we travel as a group and windsurf, kite, surf, or SUP altogether no matter the level.  First timers are welcome to come learn with pros. It is a big mix of girls, with different sports, but all share the love of the ocean that brings us all together. It is a great opportunity for women to learn from other advanced riders.

Up next is the 2 Annual Amber Dune Butterfly Effect Dominican Republic. This event will be held on August 7th. We have a trip option as well for ladies who want to stay the week of August 4th- 10th, 2010 and surf, kite, windsurf, and of course participant in The Amber Dune Butterfly Effect!

We have some great projects lined up for this event such as the 3 mile downwinder, raffle and silent auction that will help benefit the DREAM Project of Cabarete, Nikki Beach Dance Party, and so much more. For complete details always check the website www.betheeffect.com

Water sports have given me such my in life. I owe it all to these sports. Because of surfing, windsurfing, kiting, and stand-up paddling, I have seen so much of the world and met so many beautiful people, learnt different cultures, languages and life long lessons. I am so blessed to have found a passion and in return has given me such a rich appreciation for life and all it offers. I want to have others feel this as well and I believe The Butterfly Effect is my outlet to share and inspire all that I have been blessed with.
