Cristie Kerr takes dramatic victory in Safeway Classic to move closer to Lexus Cup spot
August 28th (Thursday)

Singapore-American golfer Cristie Kerr moves closer to qualifying for a coveted spot on Team International for the Lexus Cup 2008. Kerr won the Safeway Classic presented by Pepsi on Sunday in a sudden-death playoff to beat possible team mates, Swedenâs Helen Alfredsson and Sophie Gustafson. Kerr did a fantastic job to hold her nerve during a tense final round on Sunday and took the title.

Fast Eddieâs College Station, TX was the host site for the 5th OB Cues Ladies 9-Ball Tour stop this year. The venue, the staff, the weather, everything was perfect for the August 16-17th weekend setting and the players were out in full force with a strong field present to commence battle for the guaranteed 1st place prize money of $750.
