TWO-time European pool champion Kim O’Brien returns to the women’s snooker circuit on Saturday in the East Anglian Championship at Pot Black Sports Bar, Bury St Edmunds.

It was at this club that O’Brien, who lives in Bury St Edmunds, last played on the World Ladies Billiards & Snooker Association (WLBSA) tour. She reached the Plate and Doubles finals at the World Championships in April.

O’Brien will be joined in the draw by Fran Calvert, from Lowestoft, who also played in the World Championships.

World number one Reanne Evans has claimed the East Anglian title for the past three years.

In 2007, it was won by Kent’s Katie Henrick – her one and only WLBSA title.

As well as the main event, there will be a Plate competition for first-round losers, a Seniors (40+) knockout and an under-40s Shield knockout.

The East Anglian Championship is the third of six WLBSA ranking events this season. The Pot Black Sports Bar will again host the World Championships in April.
