Hosts China clinch double gender gold medals at AVC Zhangjiajie Open
China’s Huang Ying and Yue Yuan sealed their second women’s title on the 2011 AVC Beach Volleyball Tour in as many weeks on Tuesday after they sealed the Zhangjiajie Open.
The tournament ran from October 1 to 4 and drew 58 players, including 11 women’s teams.
Huang Ying and Yue Yuan, who took the crown at the Changsha leg of AVC Beach Volleyball Tour on September 29, defeated China’s Ding Jingjing and Wang Fan 2-1 (21-14, 23-25, 16-14) in 47 minutes in the final to claim the title. Ding/Wang also lost to Huang/Yue in the gold medal match in Changsha.
In the bronze medal match, Tenpaksee Use and Sannok Jarunee of Thailand downed compatriots Radarong Varapatsorn and Kulna Kamoltip 2-0 (21-17, 21-16) in 34 minutes.
