2011 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships re-kicks off in Bratislava
Chourraut sits atop Heats List
Bratislava, Slovakia September 9, 2011 – After the wind subsided competition resumed this morning at the 2011 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Bratislava. With all previous results cancelled it was a chance for paddlers to start anew; no doubt there were some disappointments at this decision, but there must have been more sighs of relief than anything as the wind made it impossible for fair competition to be held.
Women’s K1
Unlike the men, none of the ladies sat out of their 2nd Run, preferring to secure their spot in the Semi-Finals definitively. At the end of the 2nd Run, the top 5 from the 1st Run held their positions; Maialen Chourraut (ESP) in 1st Place, Corinna Kuhnle (AUT) 2nd, Katerina Kudejova (CZE) 3rd, Jana Dukatova (SVK) 4th and Fiona Pennie (GBR) 5th.
Competition kicks off again tomorrow at 09h30, with the Women’s K1 and Men’s C2 Semi-Finals and Finals held tomorrow. The PDF versions of the results are available also as attachment. LIVE results are available at http://www.123result.com For daily video highlights check out http://www.YouTube.com/SportSc Picture gallery available at www.facebook.com/internationalcanoefederation.com
