Women’s Ashes tour match ends in draw

Ellyse Perry and Alex Blackwell both hit centuries as Australia dominated the second and final day of their drawn tour match against England Women's Academy at Loughborough.

Perry struck 110 and Blackwell compiled 115 in the tourists' 377 for seven in reply to the EWA's first-innings total of 279 for nine declared.

The fourth-wicket pair came together with their side struggling on 47 for three following the loss of Meg Lanning, but they kept the EWA bowlers at bay in a stand of 173.

Perry was bowled by Dani Wyatt and after Jess Cameron sent a return catch back to Laura Marsh, Blackwell was run out by Fran Wilson.

While Alyssa Healy was trapped lbw by Danielle Hazell, Jess Jonassen struck nine fours and two sixes in an unbeaten 79.

Australia face England in the Kia Women's Ashes Test at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, starting on August 11.
