White Ferns selectors Steve Jenkin, Julie Harris and Penny Kinsella have announced squads to travel to Australia for the 2007 Rose Bowl series and to tour England in August.
The squad is: Haidee Tiffen (captain; State Canterbury Magicians), Nicola Browne (State Northern Spirit), Sophie Devine (State Wellington Blaze), Maria Fahey (State Canterbury Magicians), Sara McGlashan (State Central Hinds), Beth McNeill (State Canterbury Magicians), Aimee Mason (State Central Hinds), Rowan Milburn (State Canterbury Magicians), Louise Milliken (State Northern Spirit), Rachel Priest (State Central Hinds), Amy Satterthwaite (State Canterbury Magicians), Sarah Tsukigawa (State Otago Sparks), Helen Watson (State Canterbury Magicians).
The team will contest one Twenty20 international and five ODIs against the Southern Stars.
“Suzie Bates is unavailable for the Rose Bowl tour but will return for the tour of England. Rachel Priest and all-rounder Amy Satterthwaite have been called up for the first time,” said Jenkin.
“We have also recalled Beth McNeill for the Rose Bowl series.”
With several players unavailable for the England series, the selectors will make several changes ahead of the tour, which includes three Twenty20 internationals and six ODIs.
“As well as Suzie’s return, Rachel Candy will join the squad for the first time, while Selena Charteris and Sarah Burke of State Canterbury Magicians will replace Maria Fahey and Sophie Devine, who have told us they are unable to make the tour,” Jenkin added.
