With over 100 riders signing on to compete, the track centre was certainly buzzing. The crowd in the stands was building and the racing that was on display, was nothing short of what you would see at Future Revolution event or the National Championship.

The events focused on endurance with the Scratch races taking place first, point’s race second and just when the legs are burning the Kierin was put in just to finish the riders off.

There were many great performances from the days racing. Most notable came from Robbie Westwood of Cwmcarn Paragon in the Youth A boys. Robbie, who is a talent team member, dominated his category by taking 3 wins in three events to lead the overall at the end of the day. This trend was continued by Max Nethell of Towy riders in the Youth B Boys and Emily Haycox in the Youth B girls. Emily also won the most aggressive rider of the day award for mixing it with the Youth A girls and performing way above her age.

Organiser Michael Heaven said, “Today was a great way to kick the series off. It is great to see so many riders enjoying their racing and putting on a good show for the spectators. I am excited at the prospect of even more riders coming to the second and third rounds.”

Round 2 is due to take place on the 20th February. Entries are now being taken with the closing date  the 13th February 2010.
