Zvezda Zvenigorod – SD Itxako 25:25 (12:11)

After losing the first two matches against Győr and Valcea, Itxako took a surprise point thanks to a fighting spirit and 12 goals of Jessica Alonso.

The match in Zvenigorod was close all 60 minutes and in the very last minute Begona Fernandez scored the equaliser as Zvezda missed the last chance to win the match.

Top scorer of Zvezda was Elena Polenova with five goals. The Russians have three points on their
account.

VALCEA AND KRIM WIN TOP MATCHES


Podravka Koprivnica – Viborg HK 31:27 (13:15)

The first defeat of the current title holder was a big surprise in Koprivnica!
With the 12 goals of an outstanding Andreija Penezic, Podravka are back on track and have the same number of points (4) as Viborg.

The Danes were leading at the break, but then lost their rhythm. At 28:24 Koprivnica decided the match as Viborg were not able to come closer anymore. Goalkeeper Jelcic was also decisive as she made 18 saves. Top scorers of Viborg were Skov and Mikkelsen with six goals each.

The serious injury of Viborg goalkeeper Katarina Bralo was even worse news than the defeat for the Danes. She will be out for six weeks after breaking her finger.
