Waters & Kitchen In Shock Greenwich Open Final

England's Alison Waters and New Zealander Shelley Kitchen will meet in a surprise final of the Women's Harrow Greenwich Open after four-game defeats in the semi-finals of the WISPA World Tour Silver 30 squash event in Greenwich in the US state of Connecticut.


Waters, the fifth seed from London, needed 60 minutes to overcome her sixth-seeded England team-mate Laura Lengthorn-Massaro 9-4, 9-0, 4-9, 9-4. In the previous round, the 24-year-old from Lancashire claimed one of the biggest scalps of her career when she despatched USA's top seed Natalie Grainger.


Waters, the 23-year-old world number 12, will celebrate her fourth WISPA World Tour final against Kitchen.


The 28-year-old from Auckland caused a significant upset when she ousted Vanessa Atkinson, the second seed from the Netherlands, 9-0, 9-6, 0-9, 9-4 in 50 minutes.


World No10 Kitchen is now in her 18th Tour final.
