Wang Yuegu secures titles in Brazil

WOMENS SINGLES: Second title in Brazil for Yuegu

The winner of the Women's Singles title on the most recent occasion the Brazil Open was staged; that being in the city of Belo Horizonte in 2008 and two days after her 31st birthday, Wang Yuegu retained her crown.

She beat Li Jiawei in an all Singapore final, Wang Yuegu won 11-9, 11-7, 5-11, 11-5, 11-8.

It was the fifth ITTF Pro Tour Women's Singles title of her career; in addition to winning in Belo Horizonte in 2008; she had won in Japan in 2006, in Germany in the same year and more recently she succeeded in Korea in 2010.

Li Jiawei and Wang Yuegu secured gold in the Women's Doubles event beating compatriots, Sun Beibei and Yu Mengyu in the final.

In an all Singapore affair the no.1 seeds overcame the no.2 seeds to clinch the top prize.

Victory was secured in four straight games (11-8, 11-8, 11-9, 4-11, 9-11, 11-8)
